Drum Jam's programs are designed to Break down barriers. Align a common goal, Explore and Celebrate diversity in each and everyone’s unique contribution,while helping to engage self expression and leadership.

Drum Jam was founded in 2001 after the founder Somesh De Swardt decided that his hobby of drumming and percussion was continuously growing and needed to be shared with the world helping others to experience the passion, excitement and energy that drumming had brought him.

He organised a Community Drum Circle in Brighton and went to great lengths to advertise and promote it, inviting local drum teachers from the UK and Africa to teach and perform. It was hugely successful and the over 130 people had enjoyed the experience. This had then led to further inspiring and fun monthly events. 

In February 2002 Somesh had then decided that he would create a new life for himself doing something that inspired him and gave him a sense of fulfilment. It was then that he decided to go full time as a self-employment drumming facilitator.

The company has gone from strength to strength and employs several facilitators part time. Drum Jam Events do work in numerous communities, from educational facilities such as schools, universities and colleges. Also having carried out Teambuilding workshops with Corporations and conference events to working in the health sector with disabled and elderly participants. Wherever we take our work people have loved it and asked for more!
